Tightly-Packed Early Jerez Action For Gerloff

Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) took part in two dry and often warm Free Practice sessions at the 4.423km long Circuito de Jerez – Angle Nieto on Friday 16 October.

Riding his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR in competitive mode on the first day of the final round of the year, Garrett found a better bike set-up in the afternoon’s Free Practice Sessions.
As a consequence, he and his Kawasaki WorldSBK Team found 0.370 seconds of improvement in his personal best lap time in FP2 and he ended a very closely contested first day in 12th place – and only fractions of a second from a top nine overnight position.

Now Garrett will take part in FP3, Superpole Qualifying and a 20-lap Race One on Saturday 17 October.

On Sunday – the final race day of the whole season – he will have two races to sign off with. The ten-lap Superpole Race and then a second 20-lap Race Two will be the last points-scoring opportunities for Gerloff and his Kawasaki WorldSBK Team this year.

Garrett Gerloff

“The first day at Jerez was not too bad. I felt a lot better in the second session, FP2, and I was a lot more comfortable with the bike and everything. Our position is not super-amazing, but the way we finished makes me really happy. I am feeling good for tomorrow and with some fresh tyres in the morning, and a good FP3 session, I think we will have a shot at a good result this weekend.”
