The twelfth and final round of the WorldSSP championship is now in play at Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. In hot, sunny conditions, Jeremy Alcoba and Dominique Aegerter were on track this morning for free practice, working to adapt the setup of their Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6 636 bikes ahead of the afternoon’s Superpole session.
Alcoba placed seventh in FP1, with a time of 1’42”379, while Aegerter closed tenth with a best lap of 1’42”653.
In the final Superpole of 2026, which ran in the later afternoon, Dominque Aegerter put in a very strong performance, setting a fastest time of 1’41”476 to qualify fourth, just ahead of teammate Jeremy Alcoba, who stopped the clock on 1’41”562.
Thanks to these results, the Kawasaki WorldSSP riders will both start from the second row of the grid for the first of the weekend’s races.
Jeremy Alcoba
“I’m quite pleased with the feeling I found today with my bike. I got into a good rhythm quite easily in this morning’s practice, and then in Superpole I was very quick and was able to qualify fifth, which definitely puts me in the mix for a good result tomorrow. We still need to find something more for the bike, to allow me to ride easily, but I’m pleased because I set my fast time alone, without using any slipstream. A big thanks to the team for all their work today.”
Dominique Aegerter
“A good start and fourth place in Superpole, which is my best qualifying result of the session. It means I can start tomorrow’s race from the second row. A great result at the end of a difficult season, but the team and I have shown that we always put in maximum effort and never give up. I’m pleased, and hope to be able to run a strong race tomorrow.”
