Aiming to End the Season on a High at Jerez

The racing season for the Kawasaki WorldSBK and WorldSSP Teams will come to a close at Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. The previous round at Estoril, Portugal, confirmed the excellent form currently enjoyed by both official Kawasaki teams. In Supersport, the team secured its third victory in four races, while in Superbike, the Ninja ZX-10RR continues to run consistently near the top of the standings.

At the final round in Andalusia, Jeremy Alcoba and Dominique Aegerter will once again be targeting the podium, while Garrett Gerloff will be aiming to break into the top five.

The Jerez circuit, named in honour of the late Angel Nieto, is located in Spain, near the cities of Jerez and Cádiz, in the Andalusia region. It currently hosts the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix and the World Superbike Championship. The track originally measured 4,218 metres in length and 11 metres in width. In 1992, modifications were made to make it faster, including changes to the Sito Pons corner. The Senna chicane was subsequently modified in 1994, bringing the circuit’s total length to 4,428 metres. In 2003, the pit-lane exit was extended, while several run-off areas were resurfaced in 2009.

Manuel Puccetti

“We are enjoying an exciting end to the season, reaping the rewards of our hard work and our riders’ talent. In Supersport, we have won three of the last four races, in addition to securing a third-place finish and a pole position. In Superbike, Gerloff is achieving results that are every bit as valuable as podium finishes, and he continues to make steady progress. We are preparing for the final round of both championships with a firm determination to maintain this momentum. Our targets for the races at Jerez are a podium finish in Supersport, where Alcoba is fighting for third place in the championship, and a top-five finish in Superbike with new father Garrett Gerloff, whose wife recently gave birth to their daughter, Lucy.”

Garrett Gerloff

“I am going through a particularly happy period, not only as a rider, given the results from the last few rounds and the progress we have made with our bike, but also as a person, as I have become a father. This fills me with happiness and gives me even more motivation.

“I know the Jerez circuit very well and really like it, although we encountered some difficulties there last year. My target is to finish in the top five, bringing the 2026 season to the best possible conclusion and thanking my team, who have always given me tremendous support.”

Jeremy Alcoba

“I am particularly happy to be racing at Jerez, which is one of my favourite circuits and has brought me many satisfying results in the past, although I have also experienced some difficult moments there. “After the results achieved over the last two rounds, I can only aim to fight for the podium in Spain, especially as I am competing for third place in the championship. It is a result I did not expect, which makes me even happier at the prospect of achieving it. “I really want to perform well at this final round, to say ‘see you again’ to Kawasaki and bid farewell in the best possible way.”

Dominique Aegerter

“We are approaching this final round highly motivated to achieve good results. At the previous two rounds, in Cremona and Estoril, we made significant progress, and I now feel more comfortable on the bike and more competitive. This is the result of the tremendous work both my team and I have put in. “At Jerez, I would like to be as fast as I was in Portugal and fight for the leading positions. These will be my final races with Kawasaki and the Puccetti Team, and that gives me even more motivation to leave on a high note and be remembered positively. “I like the Andalusian circuit and know it well. We have a wealth of data from testing that I hope we will be able to make good use of this weekend.”
