Mahias improves in the rain at Magny Cours

The seventh round of the Superbike World Championship got underway at the Nevers Magny Cours circuit in France today. For Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider Lucas Mahias, this is a home round that offers him the opportunity to meet with his fans. This weekend, the French rider’s Ninja will flaunt a GiVi livery as a tribute to the historic sponsor that has long supported Manuel Puccetti’s team.

In cool, cloudy conditions, Mahias took to the track for the morning’s first practice. The session began on a dry track but continued in the rain. In these conditions, Mahias completed just a few laps, the best of which in 1’55”974.

Rain never stopped falling in FP2, but Lucas was nevertheless able to improve on the wet track. With a time of 1’52”587, the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider completed the session in twelfth place, classifying twenty-first overall in the day’s combined standings.

Tomorrow morning, Mahias will take part in the third free practice followed by Superpole and Race 1.

Lucas Mahias “We had typical Magny Cours weather today with intermittent rain but, as we say in these situations, ‘when it rains, it rains for everyone’.
