Tenth WorldSBK and WorldSSP rounds at Motorland Aragon in Spain

Motorland Aragon in Spain will host the tenth WorldSBK and WorldSSP rounds this coming weekend. The latest race weekend at Magny-Cours proved very positive for the Kawasaki WorldSBK Team, with a fourth place for Jeremy Alcoba and eleventh for Garrett Gerloff, yet more proof of the continual progress that both the riders and their respective bikes are making.

In Aragon, both riders will be looking to improve on those results. Gerloff reached the podium at this track last season, while it is a home round for Alcoba, who will be wanting to do his best in front of his fans and family.

Both the American and the Spaniard will be able to harness data collected during the test they completed here in August, which should allow them to begin with a competitive setup.

The Ciudad del Motor de Aragón, commonly known as Motorland Aragón, is a racetrack located near to Alcañiz in Spain, in the autonomous community of Aragon. The track measures 5.344 kilometres and features 17 corners, 7 of which are right-handers and 10 left. The circuit was designed by renowned German architect Hermann Tilke and has hosted WorldSBK since 2011.

Manuel Puccetti

“We are excited about this tenth round and hope we can achieve good results, also because we tested here with both our riders and have a lot of data we can use to find the ideal setup for our bikes. For Garrett, the aim is to continue to progress, while it would be great if Jeremy could reach the podium at what is also his home round.”

Jeremy Alcoba

“Aragon is my home round in that it’s the track closest to where I live and it will be great to have my fans and also my family here with me. Added motivation to do well in the races, using what we learned during testing just a few weeks ago at this same track. I know the track well of course and think I have a good opportunity to get the podium finish that has eluded me until now.”

Garrett Gerloff

“I really like the Motorland Aragon and scored two fifth places and a third-place finish last season. A fantastic weekend that I’d love to repeat again this year. We completed some very productive tests here about a month ago and will try to make use of all that hard work to score good results. I’m optimistic and very determined to achieve the kind of results that the team and I deserve.”
