Second WorldSBK and WorldSSP round in Barcelona

After carrying out two days of Superbike testing on the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona, Kawasaki Puccetti Racing is now ready to contest the second round of the WorldSBK and WorldSSP championships which will take place this weekend on the same Spanish track.

In the two days of testing on 14th and 15th March, Tito Rabat and his team made an important step forward in terms of the performance of their Ninja ZX-10RR KRT Factory Replica. The aim of the weekend is to exploit in the race their greater competitiveness.

In Supersport Can Oncu has just returned from a rather unlucky first Australian round in terms of results, but in which he nevertheless confirmed that he can aim high. During the break, the Turkish rider has further improved his physical condition, and arrives in Barcelona recharged and motivated, as does his technical staff, both determined to obtain the best possible results.

The Circuit of Catalunya is located in Montmeló, twenty kilometers north-east of Barcelona. Its track measures 4657 meters and consists of 14 curves: eight on the right and six on the left.

Manuel Puccetti

“In Barcelona we expect to play a better round than the previous one in which we were certainly not lucky. This is Tito’s home race and we expect him to be able to realize in the race what he showed in last week’s tests. Can Oncu told me that he had greatly improved his physical fitness. The last time he raced in Barcelona he took the podium in both races and we hope he can do the same this time too.”

Tito Rabat

“We arrive at the home race after two days of testing carried out on this same track. Our objective, as always, is to improve. In the tests we all worked at 200% and we know that if we continue like this we will be able to obtain the results we set ourselves. It will be very nice and stimulating to race in front of my fans. I hope the climate is favorable and I want to start strong straight away from FP1, and then bring home as many points as possible.”

Can Oncu

“It’s been a month since the previous round at Phillip Island and I can’t wait to get back on my ZX-6R. During this break I worked a lot in the gym and improved my physical shape. The Barcelona track is one of my favorites and I hope to confirm it on this occasion too. With this new format which sees the Superpole already on Friday afternoon, it will be important to immediately find the right set-up to then give our all in the two races and achieve the best possible results.”
