This weekend, Cremona Circuit will host the World Superbike Championship for the third time. For the Kawasaki WorldSSP and WorldSBK Teams, it will be their second home event of the season, following the round held at Misano in June.
At the previous round in Magny-Cours, France, Supersport riders Jeremy Alcoba and Dominique Aegerter produced mixed but positive results, with the Spaniard scoring points in every race and finishing Race 2 with an impressive fifth place.
In Superbike, Garrett Gerloff put in strong performances, finishing ninth and seventh in the two feature races.
At this tenth round, all the riders of Manuel Puccetti’s teams will be aiming for the best possible results at what is considered the true home round, as the teams’ headquarters are just 60 km from the circuit named after Angelo Bergamonti.
This weekend’s event will be a great opportunity to meet the fans of the two Kawasaki teams, as well as to welcome back the many sponsors who have always supported both teams.
Cremona Circuit is located in northern Italy, near the city of Cremona. The facility was expanded specifically to host the World Superbike Championship. The main track can be configured in three different layouts and runs counter-clockwise. It is 3,768 metres long and features 13 corners, six right-handers and seven left-handers.
It is a technical and challenging circuit, with a straight of almost one kilometre in length. The technical section features fast, flowing corners, offering an excellent mix of high-speed sections and technical turns that put the riders to the test. Cremona Circuit also includes a karting track, two pit buildings with panoramic terraces, a commercial and educational building, a medical centre, a bar and a restaurant.

“The Cremona track is very particular and I like it. We carried out some testing here a few weeks ago and, two years ago at this very circuit, I came close to the podium, finishing fourth. My feeling with the bike is now consistently good, as our results in France at the previous round demonstrated. Here in Italy, at what we consider our team’s home race, I want to be fighting at the sharp end of the classification and achieve the kind of results that would make our sponsors and all the Italian Kawasaki fans happy.”

We carried out some testing at this track and, although I think we will find different temperatures this weekend, our lap times were very encouraging, so I’m optimistic about what is our team’s home round. “We are now entering the final stages of the championship and I’m approaching this tenth round with maximum determination. I wasn’t feeling well last week, with a fever and a cold, but I expect to recover in time for the practice sessions and races at our team’s home round. We recently carried out some testing at Cremona and collected a lot of data that will be useful to us this weekend. The track is short and very particular, but I like it, and I hope to find the best setup for my bike straight away so that we can have some good races in front of our home fans.”
