Fourth row for Alcoba in Superpole at Balaton Park Circuit

The eighth WorldSSP round is now underway at Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary. This is a big weekend for the Hungarian track, which is staging the production-derived championships for the first time this year.

The Kawasaki WorldSSP Team and rider Jeremy Alcoba made the most of the morning’s free practice, working to learn the track and adapt their ZX-6R 636 to it. The Spaniard finished the session in nineteenth place with a time of 1’44”724.

Superpole ran in sunny conditions in the afternoon. Improving significantly on his morning’s best, Jeremy moved up to eleventh (1’43”542).

This result means that Alcoba will line up on row four of the grid for the first race of this Hungarian round, which will take place on Saturday afternoon and run over 18 laps.

Jeremy Alcoba

“This is my first time in Hungary, and I can say we’ve had a positive first day. This morning wasn’t easy as we had no references, but the team did a great job and in FP2 we were able to set the eleventh fastest time, no small thing considering how practice went. My race pace was good towards the end, and this leaves me confident ahead of tomorrow’s race.”
