The twelfth and final rounds of the WorldSSP and WorldSBK championships will take place this weekend at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in Spain. Already a factory squad in Supersport, Kawasaki Puccetti Racing will compete in Superbike as privateers for the last time at Jerez, before Manuel Puccetti’s squad becomes the official representative of the Akashi manufacturer in 2025.
In the cadet class, Can Oncu, who injured his right knee at Estoril, will have to undergo medical checks to establish whether he is fit to compete. The young Turkish rider is keen to get back on his ZX-6R and round out the season in a positive fashion.
In Superbike Tito Rabat will be looking to build on the positive trend of recent races, in which he has achieved his best results of the season, demonstrating his competitiveness as a rider, as well as that of the Ninja ZX-10RR KRT Factory Replica.
The Jerez circuit, dedicated to the late Angel Nieto, is located in the Andalusia region of Spain, close to Cadiz. It currently hosts both MotoGP and World Superbike events. It initially measures 4.218 km and was 11 metres wide. Modifications were made in 1992 in order to make the track faster, with changes to the Sito Pons turn and, in 1994, to the Senna chicane, bringing the track length to 4.428 km. The pitlane was extended in 2003 while some of the run-off areas were tarmacked in 2009.

Manuel Puccetti:
“We’re gearing up for a weekend we might call historic, our last as a private team. As of next year, we’ll be the official Kawasaki team in both Supersport and Superbike, an achievement that fills us with pride but also a sense of responsibility. We will do our best all the way to the chequered flag, just as we’ve always done. In Superbike, the goal remains top ten, while in Supersport we hope that Can Oncu is fully recovered from the accident in Portugal.”
Can Oncu
“I want to do all I can during this last 2024 championship round to round out what’s been a challenging season in a positive way. I feel good and hope to get the OK from the doctors so that I can race. It’ll be good to get back on my bike and worked with my team again.”
Tito Rabat
“I’m looking forward to this last round at Jerez, a home event for me. I hope to start strong and take another step forward with respect to the races at Estoril, where we already scored good results. I hope the weather is good so I can conclude this 2024 season in the best possible way together with my team.”
