The summer break now over, Kawasaki Puccetti Racing travels to France, and the historic Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, where round eight of the Superbike and Supersport World Championships is taking place this weekend.
At the previous Portimao round, Can Oncu scored his best result of the season so far in Supersport, crossing the line seventh in Race 2 and scoring points in both races.
In Superbike, never as competitive or difficult as it is now, Tito Rabat scored points in Race 1 but, more importantly, continued to close the gap that separates him from the leaders in terms of time.
Both riders are setting out to improve on their results and further boost the performance of their respective bikes in France.
The Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours is located in the French countryside, close to the towns of Magny-Cours and Nevers, in Burgundy. Constructed in 1960, the track fell into disuse in the 80s before it was acquired by the Nièvre department, with the aim of raising it to international levels. Many of the track’s corners take the name of other circuits, like the fast Estoril and the Adelaide hairpin, in that they replicate turns at those tracks. Magny Cours has hosted WorldSBK since 1991, staging 49 races to date. The track measures 4411 metres and incorporates 17 corners, nine of which right-handers and eight left.

Manuel Puccetti
“The Magny Cours track has always been good for our team, one at which we’ve won races in every category in which we’ve competed. So, we’re pleased to race at this track and will try to continue making progress, improving on the Portimao results with one eye on next season too, in that we still need to decide who the Supersport riders will be.”
Tito Rabat
“At Portimao I ran what was probably my best ever Superbike race, but I consider that a starting point rather than a destination. There are still fifteen races to go to the end of the season and my aim each time will be to fully exploit what we have available. I get on well with the team and know that, together, we can achieve strong results, starting at Magny Cours where I just hope the weather behaves itself.”
Can Oncu
“In Portugal I was able to obtain my best result of the season, but we want more of course, We’re looking for the best setup for our bike and physically, I’m training hard so that I’m ready for this round. It will be important to quickly adapt our bike to the French track if we want a good grid position and to aim high in both races.”
