Another top ten for Alcoba in Race 1 at Most

The first race of the fifth WorldSSP round played out today at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic. Due to a mistake by another rider, yesterday’s Superpole result did not reflect Jeremy Alcoba and the Ninja ZX-6R’s true potential. Placing thirteenth, the Spaniard lined up on the fifth row of the grid for today’s race, which ran in cool, dry conditions over a distance of 19 laps.

Jeremy made a good start which allowed him to maintain his position. Over the following laps, Alcoba was able to gain ground, climbing as far as the top ten to score six more championship points. He now lies eighth in the standings with 66 points.

Tomorrow will see the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team back on track for the weekend’s second and final race.

“I’d say it was a good race, in the end. In the beginning I struggled a little bit as the setup was pushing a lot and it felt nervous. Once the tyre dropped and with less fuel I started to feel much better and started to make some fast laps. I was catching the group in front, but it was not quite enough. I’m happy though because the feeling at the end of the race was positive and if we start tomorrow like we finished today, I think we can run a really good Race 2.”
