The WorldSBK and WorldSSP championships reach the midway point with round six, which will take place at the Misano World Circuit. This will be a second home round for the Kawasaki WorldSBK Team and the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team.
For both squads, the weekend on the Romagnola coast is the ideal opportunity to meet with supporters and sponsors alike.
As was the case at the Cremona round, the bikes ridden by Jeremy Alcoba and Garrett Gerloff will take to the track with the ELF livery, which celebrates the partnership between Total Italia and Manuel Puccetti’s team. A strong relationship that goes beyond the professional and that has only strengthened with time. A collaboration that is a point of pride for both partners, and one that continues to be renewed each season.
Both Alcoba and Gerloff are coming off a positive round at Most where, beyond the race results, both confirmed their competitiveness, and the progress made with their respective bikes. The two riders also completed a two-day test at the Italian track on 27-28 May, to be best prepared for this important round.
The Spaniard’s goal is to reach the podium, a result he’s just missed on several occasions, while the American is seeking the top ten.
As for the Misano World Circuit facility, it was designed in 1969 and underwent significant restructuring in the 90s. The track was lengthened to 4.060 kilometres in 1993, and then further extended, to 4.180 kilometres, in late 2006 when the sense of direction was also switched from anticlockwise to clockwise. The track now measures 4.226 kilometres and features 16 turns, ten of which right-handers and six left. Pole position is to the right.

Manuel Puccetti
“We’re excited to race in front of a home crowd and together with our sponsors. We’ve tried to prepare as well as possible for this round, as the championships reach the midway point. Like at Cremona, our bike liveries will feature the ELF graphics, showcasing our collaboration with Total Italia that is still strong after more than ten years. In the tests here at Misano in late June, we took a step forward with both Gerloff and Alcoba and we hope that our work there pays off in this weekend’s races.”
Garrett Gerloff
“I’m happy to compete at Misano. I like the track and the atmosphere here in Italy. In the recent tests at this same track, we were able to improve our Ninja and find a setup from which to start this coming weekend. It will be important to do well here because this is a home round for our team, and we can count on the support of our fans and the attendance of many of our sponsors.”
Jeremy Alcoba
“The tests we completed at Misano were positive and this means we come to the track well prepared for the races. I’m really excited and think we can do very well. In testing we found a strong race pace, and I felt very comfortable aboard the ZX-6R 636. We have a good base and a lot of a data with which to begin the weekend. I really want to do as well as possible in front of the Italian fans, at what is my team’s home round.”
