The WorldSBK riders have completed a two-day test at the Circuit de Catalunya Barcellona in Spain.
These were two key days for Kawasaki Puccetti Racing, which has seen a significant step forward in terms of the setup and competitiveness of the Ninja ZX-10RR KRT Factory Replica thanks to the hard work of the team’s technical staff and rider Tito Rabat.
On Thursday, the Spaniard put in 68 laps and set a best time of 1’42”548. Rabat was able to improve on this on Friday, recording a quickest time of 1’41”800 after completing another 54 laps.
Starting with the data collated during round one in Australia, the team was able to find a more competitive setting, while the rider had good sensations with the front end of the bike, improving his overall feeling.
These positive results bode well ahead of the second WorldSBK round that will be staged at the same Spanish track next weekend.
Manuel Puccetti
“The step forward we’ve made during this week’s test is significant. Tito laps with consistently fast times, but more importantly he found that front end feeling he’d been lacking until now. The rider and team worked hard and effectively, and I’m sure that we can reap the rewards during the next WorldSBK round here at Barcelona. We’re all highly motivated and keen to achieve the results we deserve.”
Tito Rabat
“We’ve done a great job over the last two days, taking a solid step forward in terms of our bike setup. The lack of grip at this track doesn’t help, but we nevertheless set some interesting lap times and closed the gap to the factory riders. I’m able to brake harder and have better feeling with my Ninja. So I’m feeling optimistic about the upcoming round here at Barcelona.”
