Kawasaki WorldSSP Team riders Jeremy Alcoba and Dominique Aegerter put in a combined season best performance to take the first Kawasaki WorldSSP 1-2 since 2016. A red flag brought the action in the final race of the year to a finish after 12 laps, with Jeremy and Dominique already in the top two positions.
The last race of 2026 was a dramatic one from the start, with changes of positions, a crash after a collision for the new world champion, and both Ninja ZX-6R 636 riders making the most of their fifth and seventh place grid positions to compete inside the front group throughout.
The scheduled 17-lap race was stopped after a crash behind the top riders, leaving Jeremy to win from Dominique by just 0.482 seconds.
This was Alcoba’s fourth race win of the year, and his sixth podium. All of these results have come in the most recent three rounds. In taking the Race Two win at Jerez, Jeremy finishes the season third overall, 34 points behind second place.
Aegerter’s second place finish lifts him to 15th in the championship and was not only his best ride of the year, but his first podium result in Kawasaki colours.
Manuel Puccetti
“To finish the last race of the season with a 1-2 is like a dream come true. First and second in the race, and Alcoba third in the championship are fantastic results. To have your riders finish first and second in the same race is every team’s dream, and we did that today. It’s just reward for all the hard work that the team and riders have put in and the best way to round out the championship.”
Jeremy Alcoba
“Another victory – amazing. I do not know what to say but I trusted myself a lot and I trusted my team. The race today was more easy than Saturday because some of the fast guys crashed out but I also felt much better on the bike today. When I saw that nobody had the pace I tried to stay calm. I started to fight with Öncü but then I decided to pass everybody and try to lead. Even after the red flag I saw that I could win with some small gap. It was amazing to be third in the championship. Thanks to everybody.”
Dominique Aegerter
“I am really happy to be on the podium in the last race of the season. We did a fantastic job. It was not an easy season, and in the middle of the year, I was doubting myself. We had a lot of problems and did not achieve the results I wanted. But to end the last race of the season with Jeremy first and me second for the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team – and have Jeremy finish third in the championship – I have to say a big congratulations to them and a big thanks for their help. We will celebrate these results with everybody and let’s enjoy it.”
