The Kawasaki WorldSSP and WorldSBK Teams return to action in Portugal at the Estoril Circuit, near Lisbon, for the eleventh and penultimate round of the 2026 championship.
At the previous home round in Cremona, Jeremy Alcoba dominated the Supersport class, taking pole position and winning both races. It was a historic double victory for Kawasaki.
There were also strong results in Superbike, where Garrett Gerloff achieved his best result of the season, finishing fifth in Race 1.
In Portugal, the riders and teams aim to continue this positive momentum, targeting the best possible results in both categories. Last year at Estoril, Alcoba secured third place in WorldSSP Race 2, while in the WorldSBK races Gerloff consistently finished in the points.
The Estoril Circuit hosted thirteen editions of the Portuguese Formula 1 Grand Prix (from 1984 to 1996), thirteen editions of the Portuguese Motorcycle Grand Prix (from 2000 to 2012), and seven Superbike events, in 1988, 1993, from 2020 to 2022, and in 2024 and 2025. In 1994, the track was modified with the addition of a chicane, while after 1996 the circuit underwent further significant changes: the first two corners were considerably slowed down, the pit-lane exit was moved to rejoin the track after Turn 1, the chicane introduced in 1994 was slightly widened, and the final corner was brought forward to create a sufficient run-off area. The circuit currently measures 4.360 kilometres and features 13 corners, 9 of them right-handers and 4 left-handers.

Manuel Puccetti
“We are highly motivated and determined to repeat the great results we achieved in Cremona just two weeks ago. The Estoril circuit is very technical and spectacular, and it suits our Ninja ZX-6R 636, which Alcoba took onto the podium here last year. As for Superbike, both our rider and our bike have continued to make steady progress, and we have all the ingredients needed to finish this championship on a high.”
Garrett Gerloff
“Over these past two weeks I have had some time to rest, but I have also kept training to be ready for this final part of the championship, which features two races over two consecutive weekends. We are coming off a positive round and we are determined to keep progressing and reduce the gap to the front runners. I struggled here last year, but this year I expect to do considerably better.”
Jeremy Alcoba
“After the perfect weekend in Cremona, we are now preparing to tackle the final races of the season. Estoril is one of my favourite tracks and last year, on my debut with the Ninja, we secured a podium finish after an incredible comeback from 25th on the grid. I am highly motivated and want to continue working with the team as we have done over the last few rounds. I feel strong both physically and mentally, so I can aim for the best possible results.”
Dominique Aegerter
“I am ready to tackle this penultimate round at a track I like and where I have always been fast in the past. It is a varied and technical circuit. In Cremona we took another step forward, so I hope to be more competitive both in Portugal and at the final round in Jerez. I will need to start strongly straight away to find a good feeling with the bike and secure a good starting position, which is a very important factor at this track.”
