Two important days of testing on 13-14 March at Cremona Circuit

The first WorldSSP round, which took place at Phillip Island in Australia at the end of February, brought ups and downs for the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team. The weekend had its positives, but the team also had to deal with some setup and electrical issues which conditioned its riders’ performance, particularly that of Dominique Aegerter. Still adapting to the change of category after racing in Superbike in recent years, the Swiss rider suffered technical problems with his Ninja ZX-6R 636 towards the end of each race and was denied a strong result in Race 2 because of this. On the other side of the garage, Alcoba struggled to find a competitive setup for his bike but was nevertheless able to place top ten in each race.

The bike and riders have the potential to do much more than they did in Australia and to ensure this, the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team will complete a two-day test at Italy’s Cremona Circuit on 13-14 March, in preparation for the second championship round that will take place at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal on 27-29 March.

Manuel Puccetti

“We’ve worked hard on our bikes since the Australian round, analysing all the data and checking every detail, particularly in terms of the ZX-6R 636’s electronics and electrical elements. We’ve also prepared some new components that we’ll test during our sessions at Cremona. This track time is very important, and we’ll use it to understand where we are and to definitively resolve the issues that limited us at Phillip Island, so that we can head into the Portimão round with confidence.”
