FIM Supersport World Championship rider Jeremy Alcoba started his home round at Motorland Aragon from the front row of the grid but ended up tenth in the first race of the weekend.
After taking his and his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636’s first front row start in third position after the Superpole Qualifying session on Friday, 26 September, Alcoba was in a confident mood to take on the challenge of Race One – especially at a circuit he knows very well from his recent career.
Jeremy started Race One strongly and was running inside the podium positions for a time, before he slipped back as the laps counted down. He would end up in tenth position, fighting against a drop in grip and traction.
He used all his skills and experience to finish inside the top ten. Alcoba crossed the finish line second inside a group of four riders, after 15 laps of intense action at the longest circuit on the calendar.
Race Two now beckons for Alcoba, on Sunday, 28 September. After setting the 16th best lap time in Race One, he will start that final Motorland race from 10th place on the grid.

“In Superpole Qualifying I immediately felt comfortable on the bike, finding a good feeling. Thanks to the team’s amazing work, I was able to ride with a group of fast riders and set the third quickest time of the session. We knew from the beginning that we could struggle during the race. It turned out like this and I tried to manage the tyre as well as possible, but the difference was too much. We need to work for tomorrow, when we will start in P10. I think the team and I can make another step and maybe we can fight for a top five position.”
