Third round of 2025 at the historic Assen track

Just two weeks after the second round at Portimao, the Kawasaki WorldSBK and WorldSSP Teams are heading back out on track at the historic Assen track in The Netherlands for the third round of the season.

In Portugal Garrett Gerloff initially experienced some of the same difficulties he had in Australia, but in Race 2 he took a significant step forward with his Ninja ZX-10RR. This weekend Gerloff will be doing all he can to score important race results.

Jeremy Alcoba continues to build confidence with his renewed ZX-6R and will be looking to fight for the podium during this third Supersport round.

The TT Circuit Van Drenthe in Assen is located in the north of the country and was specifically designed for motorcycle racing. Inaugurated in 1925, it has hosted the Dutch GP since 1949, while the first production-derived races were staged in 1992. The track measures 4.542 km and comprises 18 turns, twelve of which right-handers and six left. The weather is often an unknown factor at Assen, with many past races having run in the wet, while in 2019 Saturday’s SBK race was even cancelled due to snow.

Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal

“Racing at Assen is always a pleasure. We’ve won races here and have many positive memories of this track. We’re confident when it comes to Gerloff because in Race 2 at Portimao he was able to get to the crux of the matter and I saw him happier and more motivated than ever. Assen could represent a turning point for him this season. Alcoba continues to grow together with his bike, and he can battle for the top three this weekend.”

Garrett Gerloff

“I can’t wait to race at Assen because I like the track. I think this could be a better round for me on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR. I learned a lot last time out at Portimao and hope to be able to exploit that this weekend at Assen, putting in good performances for the team and for myself. I can’t wait to get started!”

Jeremy Alcoba

“I’m really excited and highly motivated ahead of the Assen round. This time we haven’t had to wait long after Portimao, where we had a good weekend but did not yet express our full potential. So I can’t wait to get back on my Ninja and set to work with my team, with whom I’m getting on really well. It looks like the weather might be good and this is very important. I really like the track and got pole position here in Moto3.”
